Stainless pins with rounded tips, ABS housing, soft-touch grip. Wipe the head with a damp cloth and let it dry fully before storing. Do not soak the handle: water in the button mechanism is the one thing that will shorten its life.

Why daily brushing never sticks
The satisfying part isn't the brushing. It's this.
The reason most of us skip brushing isn't laziness. It's that cleaning the brush after is worse than the brushing itself. Picking fur out of wires with your fingers. One press ejects the whole mat as one sheet.

Brush with the coat
Light pressure, in the direction the hair grows. The fine pins slide past the topcoat and lift the loose undercoat out.
Press the button
The plate slides up the pins and pushes the trapped fur off as one sheet. No picking, no combing it out with your fingers.
Peel and bin it
Lift the fur off in one piece and drop it in the bin. Release the button and the pins are ready again.

The button is the one moving part, and it's the thing every cheap brush eventually fails on. Ours is tested by hand before it ships. If yours sticks anyway, send a photo and we send a replacement.

The pins are fine but rounded at the tip, so they part the coat rather than dig into skin. Use light pressure and let the pins do the work.
Often, yes. The rounded tips feel more like a massage than a rake, and because you never stop to pick fur out of the bristles, sessions stay short. Start with 30 seconds and stop before they ask you to. If your cat is genuinely reactive to brushes, no tool fixes that overnight, but sharp pins are a common, fixable cause of it.
The head is sized for everyday grooming on cats and medium dogs. On a large, heavy-coated breed it still works, you'll just cover the coat in more, smaller sections rather than long sweeps.
